Ingredients:
Crust
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 c. bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 clove minced garlic
Filling
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 tbl. basil
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 3 med. potatoes, sliced and cooked cooked
- 4 oz cheddar cheese, cubed
- 1 4 oz can mild green chiles
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Topping
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 2 oz cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 cup potatoes, mashedÂ
Directions:
Crust: Combine all ingredients and press into a 9 inch pie pan. Bake in 350 oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside. Filling: Saute garlic and onion in 2 tbs. olive oil for 5 minutes. Combine potatoes, (reserving enough to make 1/2 cup mashed for topping) and cheese with garlic and onion, chiles, salt and pepper. Mix well and spread over beef crust. Topping: Combine all ingredients and pour over filling. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes.
