Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 - 4 cans beans (red or black) -drained
- 2 chopped onion
- 1 pepper, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- large can tomatoes, crushed
- 1 can beef broth
- 5 tblsp. Chili powder cumin
- salt and pepper
Directions:
Saute beef, drain off most of the fat. Add onions, pepper, and garlic -- saute till it softens. Add seasonings, tomatoes, beans, broth, if needed. Cook at least an hour . This is where you get creative. Add hot peppers, any veggies you may have (such as celery, carrots), wine, if you have any. Add more meat, less beans, more tomatoes, no tomatoes, more broth, more beans, less meat, all beans. Serve with raw onions, sour cream, grated cheese, avocado. Serve on hot dogs, baked potatoes, Serve over rice, spaghetti or couscous. Serve with cornbread
